In late January 2010, New Hope located a development site owned by builder and developer Bob Lynn in an area just off Allison Lane near Jeffersonville High School.  Lynn’s development is currently called Aberdeen.  New Hope’s development, for up to 29 units, 13 duplexes and one triplex, will be called Aberdeen Woods.  President/CEO Jim Bosley commented, “Our last housing initiative was about 18 months ago and we have been on the lookout for some new opportunities and new areas to build for some time.  This is a great fit for us.”

Construction on Aberdeen Woods will begin in spring 2011, with initial occupancy estimated by fall.  Recognizing the evolving needs of senior adults, a playground and gazebo will be built to accommodate children and a small senior center will be built with fax, internet services and meeting space.  Each duplex will feature 2 & 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and contain about 1,150 & 1,270 square feet respectively.  Pat Yense-Woosley, Director of Housing and Community Development with 22+ years of experience in housing development, said, “These new units will be affordable two and three bedroom rental homes with backyards and garages.”
